A 7-year-old UK resident, Chloe Bridgewater, wrote an adorable job application letter to Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, without any expectation of a reply. Chloe’s handwritten letter was directed to “the Google Boss”. When Chloe asked her father, Andy Bridgewater, about the ideal place to work, he told her about the company ‘Google’.

Chloe’s father told her that Google’s office has bean bag chairs, go karts, and slides. He even said that Google would be ideal as it’s known for its world-famous perks and cutting-edge work. All this gained Chloe’s interest and made her write a job application to Google.
It’s the idea that matters, not your background! Sundar Pichai
This is what Chloe wrote in her letter:
Dear Google Boss,
My name is Chloe and when I am bigger, I would like a job with Google. I also want a job in the chocolate factory and want to do swimming in the Olympics. I go swimming on a Saturday and Tuesday. My dad said I can sit on bean bags and go down slides and ride go karts in a job in Google. I like computers too and I have a tablet I play games on. My dad gave me a game where I have to move the robot up and down squares, he said it will be good for me to learn computers. My dad said he will get me a computer one day. I am 7 years old and my teachers tell my mum and dad I am very good in class and am good at spelling and reading and my sums. My dad told me if I carry on being good and learning things, one day I will be able to have a job at Google.
My sister Hollie is also very clever but she likes doll and dressing up, she is 5. My dad told me to give you a application to get a job in Google. I don’t really know what one of them is but he said a letter will do for now. Thank you for reading my letter, I have only ever sent one other and that was to Father Christmas. Goodbye
Chloe Bridgewater. Age 7
The little girl got a pleasant surprise when CEO Sundar Pichai himself replied.
Sundar Pichai’s letter to Chloe was full of encouragement and motivation. He asked her to keep working hard and follow her dreams.
This is what Sundar Pichai wrote in reply to Chloe’s adorable job application:
Dear Chloe,
Thank you so much for your letter. I’m glad that you like computer and robots, and hope you will continue to learn about technology. I think if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything you set your mind to — from working at Google to swimming in the Olympics. I look forward to receiving your job application when you are finished with school!
All the best to you and your family.
Chloe’s father, Andy Bridgewater, shared Sundar Pichai’s response on LinkedIn, and said,
It’s a much-needed confidence booster for Chloe, who was knocked down by a car years ago.
Andy even said that Sundar Pichai’s response will help her work hard and stay motivated in order to achieve her goals. He feels that with this he will be able to develop Chloe’s skills and make her focus on her studies to fulfill her goal of working at Google in the future.
