Why is Mukesh Ambani the richest person in India and not Ratan Tata?

TATA’s donate 66% of their profit right away. About 66% of equity of Tata Sons is held by philanthropic trusts endowed by members of Tata family. The Tata’s are famous for their numerous philanthropic activities, the reason being this big 66%, which leaves little less for themselves.

Why is Mukesh Ambani the richest person in India and not Ratan Tata?

Mr Mukesh Ambani gives Rs 325 crores ($48 million) or 0.2% of personal wealth to charity

Ratan Tata seems to be owning only 3368 equity shares of TATA Sons.

So his personal worth is somewhere mere $600 Million.

2 charitable trusts hold shares worth $50 Billion (Rs 336400 crores) in Tata Sons

Sir Dorabji Tata Trust | 113067 shares | 27.97705 %
Sir Ratan Tata Trust | 95211 shares | 23.5588 %

Ratan Tata might not be listed among the richest but sure is among the richest valued people of world for he works for the betterment of all and not for betterment of his own bank balance.

That’s how, Mukesh Ambani grow richest while Ratan Tata didn’t! We have respect for Reliance also but the way Tata has touched life of common people, hardly Reliance could do.
